Richard Lee “Twiggy” Sherman, 78, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on November 26, 2021, at his home. Lee was born in Taneytown, Maryland, on April 24, 1943, to the late Catherine and Leroy Sherman. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class, and went on to work for over 40 years at Dovell & Williams as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose, and Elks. Lee loved camping & travelling, as well as, helping other people and going out to eat.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Connie Sherman; his beloved children, Barbara DeLia and Michelle Clabby; his cherished grandchildren, Richie Smith, Courtney Russell, Michael Clabby, Jr., Emily Clabby, and Brittany Jones; his cherished great-grandchildren, Cenzlee Jones and Carter Jones; and his dear siblings, Fred Sherman, John Sherman, and Sandra Sherman. In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by his brother, Paul Sherman.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S.W. (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, December 6th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org
