Richard Whitney

March 14, 1934 — June 1, 2013

On June 1, 2013, Richard B. Whitney passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Mr. Whitney was born on March 14, 1934 in Reno, NV to Howard and Dorothea Whitney. He joined the Army and served our country during the Korean War between 1953 - 1956. After the Army he continued to serve our country by working at the Department of Defense as a Telecommunications Officer for 40 years. Mr. Whitney attended the University of Maryland. Richard was a proud member of the American Legion Post #40, and a volunteer of Meal on Wheels for 18 years. Mr. Whitney enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and watching the Ravens and Orioles.

He is preceded in death by his wife Louise Mae Whitney and his brother Terry Neff. Mr. Whitney is survived by his children: Dawn L. Whitney, Kenneth B. Whitney and his wife Diane, and Candy E. Whitney; his granddaughter, Nichole Rumpke and her husband Robert, 2 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Donald Neff and Virginia Carbery.
