Robert James Appler Sr., 72, of Brooklyn, passed away at his home on August 11, 2015. He was born on September 7, 1942, to the late William and Corrine Appler. Robert, a Vietnam War veteran, proudly served our country in the United States Army. After being discharged from the Army, he went on to work as a printer for Schneiderith & Sons, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and collecting pocket knives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Caroline Sutton and Corrine Miller.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; three children, Dawn Worsley and husband Kevin, Doreen Luers and husband Mark, Robert J. Appler Jr. and wife Samantha; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, William Edward John Appler.
