Robert Bruce Drake, 92 of Glen Burnie, passed away January 5, 2018. Bob was born in Cicero, Illinois on June 28, 1925. He was the beloved husband of the late Elisabeth Zeiser of Kiefersfelden, Germany and loving father of the late Glen Drake. Bob was a proud WWII Veteran serving in the 65th Infantry 5th Army in Germany where he met his wife and married in 1947. Bob had a 20 year military career and was a Civilian Instructor in the 5th Army at Ft. Meade following his retirement. Bob was a charming and kind man who will be missed by all who knew him. Bob had a ritual of going to Hardees (Crain Hwy.) in the morning for breakfast and then going to visit his wife and his son's grave.
He was also preceded in death by parents Edgar and Mildred; loving brothers, Ray (Lou), Ken (Mildred). He is survived by his brother, Walter Weigand (Joan); cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends whom he was devoted to.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW, (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Thursday, Jan. 11, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon for a visitation. A celebration of Bob's life will follow at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery-Crownsville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior Project -OR- The USO in loving memory of Robert B. Drake's faithful service to our country.
