Robert Ehlers, Sr

On Thursday, January 10, 2008, Robert Lewis "Bob" Ehlers, Sr. passed away after a lengthy illness at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Agatha V. Ehlers (nee Doble)and his son Robert L. Ehlers, Jr. He is survived by his loving children Elaine Frazier, James Ehlers, Susan Hewitt, and Martin Ehlers. Bob is also survived by nine cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his dear brothers, Thomas, Wilmer, and Edward Ehlers.
Bob was born in Baltimore and was in the United States Marine Corps from 1945-1946 and then in the Reserves from 1947-1951. He was a truck driver / car hauler for over 35 years and following retirement worked at Arundel Firearms and Pawn. Bob was a member of the Teamster Local 557, the Glen Burnie Improvement Association, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed collecting eagles & guns, bird watching & feeding, and gardening. Bob was a lifelong dog lover and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
