Robert Fairchild

Robert Lee Fairchild, 80, a resident of Millersville, died January 26 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army before retiring as Chief Warrant Officer. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Grandlodge of Philippines and Leonard Wood Lodge #105 as well as the Exalted Ruler of the Glen Burnie Elks #2266 (BPO). An avid reader, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, landscaping his lawn, gardening, westerns, going to the beach and spending time with his family. He was also a fan of college football and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois C. Fairchild; six children, Robert L. Fairchild, Julie I. Vogt, Stephen M. Fairchild, Sarah A. Kemm, Suzan Fairchild Smith and Carol L. "Tootie" Saumenig; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
