Robert Gooch, Sr

Robert Barnett Gooch was born on April 16, 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Jack B. Gooch and Mary Marshall Gooch. He attended Byrd High School and North Dallas High School, until entering the military. He later earned his G.E.D. On December 12, 1951, he married Mary A. Vucinovich in Long Beach, California. After moving around the country with his U.S. Navy career, they moved to Maryland in 1967. Mr. Gooch retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1971. He is an amateur radio operator and enjoys reading, gardening and computers. Mr. Gooch and his wife have two children, Mary Smith and Jacquelyn Lawler. Their son, Robert Gooch, Jr. predeceased them in 2006. Mr. Gooch also has a sister, Eleanor Timan.
