On September 2, 2017, Robert Franklin Hoofnagle, Sr., 84, of Linthicum Heights, passed away at his home. Bob was born on July 7, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Edna and William E. Hoofnagle, Sr. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and then went on to work at CandP Telephone Company. Bob was active in the Masonic Order in various capacities that include : Pythagoras Lodge #123, Scottish Rite - 32nd Degree, and the Boumi Temple Shrine in which he was a Boumi Ambassador and Past Commander of the Legion of Honor. Bob enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, and cheering on the Orioles, Ravens, and previously the Colts.
Bob was predeceased by his devoted wife, Sheryll S. Hoofnagle, and his siblings, William "Buddy" Hoofnagle, Jr. and Dorothy Colacce. He is survived by his loving children, Robert F. Hoofnagle Jr., M.D., Karen Kemper, and Valerie Howland, and his step-son, Terry R. Gilleland, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Brenden Hoofnagle, Collin Hoofnagle, Karis Kemper, Zachary Howland, and Rachael Howland; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Michelle Gilleland and Titus Howland.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, September 7th, from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 8th, at 10 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. Entombment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
