Robert "Bob" Joseph Murphy, 76, of Glen Burnie passed away on March 3, 2024. Bob was born on July 8, 1947 in Baltimore to the late James and Grace Murphy of Brooklyn Park. He was also predeceased in death by his sister Janice Torres, his wife Kathy Murphy and his long-time partner and friend Sheila Beale. He leaves behind his nephew Brian Murphy and wife Michelle Nazarenus, his great niece Grace Murphy, close friend Denise Beale, and his feline companion George Murphy. He was a musician who loved playing the bass and performing. He graduated from Brooklyn Park High in 1965 and then served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He was a retiree of Verizon formerly known as Bell Atlantic. Serving as a proud member of the American Legion Post 40, Ravens Roost #75 and The Laurel Club; Bob was an active member in his community. His last 4 years were spent with his loving girlfriend Bernadette "Bernie" Lemmon; she brought out his youthful spark and they had a lot of fun! During this time Bob formed a close relationship with her family, especially her daughter Janis Cubbage and husband Matt Cubbage, her children Peyton Cubbage, Alexis Cubbage, and their nephew Hayden Gardner. He enjoyed taking the kids to school and having dinner dates. Hayden in particular became his best buddy! Bob will be missed by many and our love for him carried with us.
