Mr. Roy G. Skiles, 60, of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on January 13, 2011 at his home after a 7 month battle with cancer. Roy was born in Baltimore, MD in 1950 to the late Sammie and Charles Skiles, Sr. Mr. Skiles was an educator who started at Andover High School as a Social Studies teacher, Athletic Director and football coach. He became Assistant Principal of Chesapeake High School, Principal of Northeast High School, Area Director and Assistant Superintendent of Anne Arundel County. Upon his retirement, he went on to become the Assistant Superintendent of Queen Annes County school system. Roy was a lifelong avid reader, enjoyed traveling and loved sports and the Baltimore Ravens. He was the beloved husband of 38 years of Nina Skiles; devoted father of Megan Sweet and husband Richard; dear brother of Linda Wolden, Barbara Connor and Charles Skiles, Jr.; loving brother-in-law of Helen Lowery, Carl Lowery and June Bogomaz; cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
