Russell Lee Kulp

January 16, 1960 — August 17, 2024

Russell Kulp was a one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life man that had the biggest heart ever. He was a sensitive soul and had empathy for everyone. He never said a bad word about anyone. Russell loved to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. He was the life of the party always! He had a contagious laugh that could light up any room. He was known for his charismatic personality and his ability to make friends wherever he went. It didn’t matter where you went with him, he was “famous” in the most random places from grocery stores to baseball games, festivals, vacations, to simply walking down the street. He had a way of connecting with people and making them feel valued.

Russell had a passion for music, and his talent as a drummer was truly remarkable. He could hear a song one time and play it by ear, mesmerizing everyone with his rhythmic beats. He was a member of various bands throughout his life like “Hurricane” and performed at many local venues, always leaving the crowd wanting more. Aside from music, Russell had a deep love for sports. He was a dedicated fan of the Baltimore Orioles, always cheering on his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm. He was also a die-hard supporter of the Baltimore Ravens, never missing a game and proudly donning his team's colors. He also loved collecting baseball cards with his children.

Russell had an appetite for life's pleasures. He savored good food, enjoyed listening to good music, and cherished moments spent in the company of loved ones. Russell was a Millwright and belonged to the local union which he was very proud of. He also worked as a musician, bartender and recently for a local restaurant where he loved his boss, George.

Russell was a blood donor and did so to help others. He was a consistent and regular donor to the Red Cross.

Family was everything to Russell. Despite his parents' divorce, he maintained a close bond with them until they passed. He cherished his grandparents, Kathryn and Edwin, and held a deep love for his younger twin sisters, Carole and Cheryl. Russell was especially close to his mother, Anita Kulp, and later reconnected with his father, Russell Kulp, Sr., as he grew older. Their passing left a void in his heart that could never be filled. Russell's love extended to the next generation as well. He took great pride in being a father to his 3 children, Jason, Christine, and Brittany. They were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His 2 grandchildren, Madison and Callie Rae, brought immense happiness to his life, and he treasured the time he spent with them. He adored his nephew, Trey, and was a second father to him.

Russell had extended family whom he loved so much -- two stepsisters, Beth and Pam. He had a special relationship with Pam and her husband, Richard, and her girls Brandy and Rachel as well as Beth, CJ and Carla. He had 11 great nieces and nephew and 1 great, great nephew. He loved spending time with all the kids, and it always brought a smile to his face. He took the time to bring gifts to all the children at every visit. Michelle Kulp, Russell's ex-wife, shared a special bond with him and they remained good friends over the years. Their children and grandchildren were a testament to their love and remained a constant reminder of all the beautiful moments they shared.

Russell, also known as "Danger-Russ," lived life to the fullest. He brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of all who knew him. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those he left behind, but his memory will forever be cherished. Russell Lee Kulp, born on January 16, 1960, will be remembered for his big heart, his honesty, his generosity, and his love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
