Ruth Ladd

Ruth B. Ladd (nee Boyer), passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Roy H. Ladd Sr (2011); her parents, John and Naomi Boyer; and her brothers, Ridgely and Charles Boyer. She was the devoted mother of Roy H. Ladd Jr (Bonnie), Deborah Ladd Benson (Ralph) and Douglas Ladd (Joyce);  the loving grandmother of William Ladd, Charles Ladd, Meghan Benson, Adam Benson, Abigail Ladd, Mikayla Ladd and Kelsey Ladd and great-grandmother of Robert Ladd, Brandon Ladd and Andrew Ladd.

Ruth was born and raised on the family farm in Severn, Maryland. During WWII, she worked for the U.S. Army on Ft. Meade where she met Roy H. Ladd, an Army Lieutenant. Ruth and Roy were married in 1946 at Severn United Methodist Church where she was an active lifelong member.  Ruth resided in Severn her entire life and was a very successful Real Estate agent in northern Anne Arundel County for 40 years working for several different brokers. After she retired, she took up quilting and was an active member of the Friendship Quilters of Linthicum.

Visitation will be at the Singleton Celebration Center, 206 Crain Highway S, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on September 24th, from 3 – 5 PM, with a service at 3:15.
