On May 26, 2009, Salvatore "Sam" Valenzia, a resident of Millersville for 33 years. Beloved husband of 61 1/2 years to the late Virginia; loving father of Lawrence C. Valenzia, Nancy C. Stanley, Patricia A. Jones, Leonard G. Valenzia, Teresa F. Hewitt, Salvatore C. Valenzia, Jr., and Craig M. Valenzia; cherished grandfather of 11; devoted great grandfather of six; dear brother of Josephine Kraft, Rose Long, Mary Upton, Amelia Gray, and Richard Valenzia. He was preceded in death by two of his siblings, Joseph Valenzia and Frances Younger. Sam was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Lorenzo and Frances Valenzia. He was self employed for 50 years. He served in the United States Army; during that time he was a Prisoner of War and received two medals, the Purple Heart and Air Medal. Sam belonged to the Howard Masonic Lodge #101 and Boumi Temple. He greatly enjoyed hunting, baseball, traveling, and spending time with his family.
