Sarah was born on Sept 17, 1956. At a young age she was crafty and had an eye for fashion. Sarah grew up a good student and loved theatre, dance and performing. In high school she joined the Thespian group and was in several plays including a starring role in 'The Boyfriend.' Being so creative, she went into the hairdressing field and worked in the Baltimore metro area and went to the Wella Corporation in Germany to further her career. Sarah was a born-again Christian and attended Church on the Rock in Anne Arundel County. She loved bible study and singing hymns. Starting in her mid 20s, Sarah was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had high-highs and low-lows. She was a self-advocate and joined National Alliance of Mental Illness and Celebrate Recovery. Sarah sustained a life-changing injury during a depression and became partially paralyzed for about a year and was unable to walk. Shortly after that time in a wheelchair, she drove herself to Anne Arundel College and enrolled in medical assisting where she walked across the stage and received a certificate. Sarah moved to Cecil County in 2014. She loved living in the “country.” Unfortunately, she was treated for years with lithium which eventually caused kidney failure. From 2018, she had multiple health issues and in the end was in hospice care. She died April 9, 2020. She is survived by her brother, Robert G Stewart and sister, Elizabeth Stewart, nieces and nephews and one great nephew. Please honor Sarah with a donation to the National Spinal Foundation.
