At 37 years old, Sergeant First Class Adam Joseph Donaldson, US Army was awarded Angel Wings on November 15, 2021. SFC Donaldson was born on March 28, 1984 in Dover, New Hampshire. Moving to Maryland at a young age, Adam graduated from Glen Burnie Senior High School in 2002 and at the age of 18, set his sights on serving in the United States Army. During his 19 years of service, Adam completed tours in Korea, Germany, Iraq, and Poland. Adam was a skilled mechanic where he became known during a battalion “Able Call” ceremony as “Tank Whisperer,” by other senior leader belt buckle holders. This award is given to you for being known within the ranks on how to be proficient at your job.
Adam is survived by his children, Trent and Lillyann Donaldson; his parents, Thomas Donaldson and Bobbi Helmacy; his brothers, Brian (Katie) and Kyle (Danielle) Donaldson, as well as other important family members, Allyann Donaldson, Sheyenne Tully, Noah Tully, and Jeremiah Tully. Adam enjoyed spending time with his kids and family, often standing over the grill where he shined his smile and laughter on everyone as well as often enjoyed getting “Mud on the tires” of his Jeep.
Adam will be dearly missed and remembered by all who had the opportunity to be in his presence.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, on Friday, December 10th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Adam will later be laid to final rest at Arlington National Veteran Ceremony.
