Sgt. Britenstine

On Friday, February 22, 2008, Edgar Lee Britenstine passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. He is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Martha E. Britenstine. Edgar is also survived by his beloved children, Lilyan Jarmer, Edgar Britenstine, Jr., Janet Rose Pogar, and Diana Britenstine as well as ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son, Henry Britenstine. He is also survived by his dear brother, Arthur Britenstine.
Edgar was born in Northenville, Illinois, and was a retired Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He earned the bronze star in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, animals (especially his dog Muffin), and nature.
