Sharon George

Sharon E. George (nee Lloyd) of Stevensville, formerly of Odenton, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on April 6, 2015. She was born in Annapolis on August 8, 1954 to Elaine C. and the late Frederick T. Lloyd. Sharon graduated from Arundel Senior High School in 1972. In 1976, she graduated from University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor's of Science and later a Master's degree of Information Technology from The George Washington University. Sharon retired from the National Security Agency after many years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, IEEE and National Honor Society. As a breast cancer survivor, Sharon was involved with many charities, including the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and was an avid Orioles and Raven fan.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward George, Sr.; and her beloved dogs, Nickel and AshLeigh.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Elaine; two brothers, Jeffrey W. Lloyd, Sr. and Gary S. Lloyd; nephew and Godson, Jeffrey W. Lloyd, Jr.; and her aunt, Helen M. Zinn and husband Fred.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to Mercy Medical Center and mailed to: Mercy Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, c/o Mercy Health Foundation, 301 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD 21202 (please indicate on check memo line that the gift is in memory of Sharon George).
