Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and friend to many. Shirley went to be with the lord and lost loved ones on May 11, 2021 in her daughter’s Glen Burnie home where she resided.

She was born on November 4, 1943 in Harmons, MD and grew up in Severn, MD. Shirley was a strong woman both in faith and love. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and spending as much time as possible with her family making cherished memories with lots of love and laughter. Shirley is known for her kind and selfless heart, always sacrificing her needs for her family. She was an avid animal lover to not only her pets but her grandpets and neighborhood strays. It would not be abnormal for Shirley to sneak food to any passing through strays or wild animals, always making sure they were well fed. Even during her last months on earth and with difficulty communicating, Shirley got her point across that she wanted assurance that her stray animals were still being tended to. She LOVED Elvis Presley and attended multiple impersonation events creating lasting memories. She is a rare gem with a full, kind and caring heart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Edwards in 2004; Parents, Margaret (2012) and Wiley Mills Sr (1979); Sister Virginia (Sissy) McDonald (2013); Brothers, Phillip Mills (2012), John Mills Sr. (2012), James Mills Sr. (2003), Wiley “Sonny” Mills Jr (2010) and Great Granddaughter Camilla Latney (2018).

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories; 4 Daughters, Donna and Husband Steve Brower of Glen Burnie, Martha and Husband David Patterson of Keedysville, MD, Sharon and Husband David Williams of Henderson, MD, Mary and Husband Todd Patterson of Pasadena, MD; 2 Sons, Donald II and wife Roseanne Edwards of Pasadena, MD, Martin and Wife Marie Edwards of Martinsburg, WV; 3 Sisters, Mary Cichon, Martha Patterson and Lisa Henson; Best friend, Virginia Edwards; 13 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren whom all loved and adored her dearly.
