Steven H. Sunday, 75, of Annapolis passed away on January 25, 2021. Steven was born in 1945 to the late Addie and Howard Sunday in Seattle, Washington. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and at the age of 14, Steven and his family moved to Bremerhaven, Germany. Later in his high school years, they moved back to Maryland where he attended high school at Glen Burnie High School and graduated top of his class in 1963. Steven got a job at the US Naval Academy and worked as a Program Developer until he retired in 2010 after 36 years. He volunteered at the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center as a Web Designer from 2010-2016. Steven received an award for “Best Volunteer” from 2016-2017. He was a member of Weems Creek Baptist Church in Parole, MD. He enjoyed movies, collecting things, building Lego models and mostly loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carol Sunday. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Sloman and her husband Randy; three grandchildren, Jovian, Addie and Violet Sloman; step-children, M. Kathryn Kolencik and Russell C. Zaccari, Jr.; sister, Donna Somers; niece, Jennifer Clark; and nephew, Nicholas Lawson.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Monday, February 1st from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services are private. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 40 people inside the funeral home at one time and requiring masks for all visitors. We ask that you please keep your visit brief, as there may be people waiting to get into the funeral home.
