Sylvia Day

Sylvia Bertha Day (nee Eveson) passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 16, 2015. Born in her family home in 1927, she lived her entire life in Glen Burnie. She was the daughter of the late George and Sylvia Eveson. A graduate of Glen Burnie High and Bard Avon Professional School, she was a secretary at Glendale Elementary for 28 years. She was married to Paul Wesley Day, whom she met at Glen Burnie High, for 68 years. She was active in AARP and the Glen Burnie Improvement Association, especially the annual carnival. A lifelong parishioner of St. Alban's Church, she was involved in several ministries, including the altar guild. In addition to enjoying time with her family, she loved going to the theatre and traveling.

She is survived by her husband and her sons, Charles Eveson Day and Martin Paul Day, and their wives, Michelle Ann Day and Toni Renee Day. She was the beloved grandmother of Justin Paul Day, Jacquie Renee Day and Matthew Craig Day of Glen Burnie and the great-grandmother of Emma Katherine Day.
