On October 14, 2008, Thelma Ruth Mayo of Pasadena. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Ernest Mayo, Jr.; loving mother of Virginia Ruth Clark, and Joseph Ernest Mayo, III; cherished grandmother of Luther Clark, Jr., and his wife Sameera, Jacob Clark and Brandi Schalker, Zachariah Clark, Dakota Clark and Heather Kikola, Ronnie Nolan, Jr., Theresa Mayo, Amanda Torbeck, and William Palo; devoted great grandmother of Huda, Rayyan, and baby boy on the way, J.P., Felicia, and Janie, and Haley; dear mother-in-law of Luther R. Clark, Catherine A. DeFrancisco, Chuck E. Torbeck, Jr., and Phyllis L. Torbeck; caring sister-in-law of Irvin Armstrong, Alice and John Walter Smith, Ella and James Hayes. Thelma is also survived by her beloved family and friends Shirley and Paul Wine, Walt and Kathy Kikola. During her years of employment, she worked as Chief Custodian for Baltimore County Public Schools. "After retirement, she became a caregiver to those in need". Some of her hobbies included canning, cooking, quilting, sewing, and being a collector of various items. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, 1PM, at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Interment Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
