Theodore D. LaBarre Sr., 92, a 53-year resident of Ferndale, passed peacefully at Somerford Place in Columbia, MD on June 23. He was born to the late John and Elsie LaBarre on February 20, 1918, in Baltimore. He retired from Western Electric, Baltimore and was a life member of the Telecom Pioneers. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, spending most of his time on the hospital ship St. Olaf. He was a member of the Boumi Shriners, Baltimore; a 40-year member of the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213; and life member of the American Legion Post #195. His greatest enjoyments were golfing, gardening and snow birding to Melbourne, FL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Gesine M. LaBarre (nee Eberhart) and all of his many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Theodore D. LaBarre Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Patricia Bussey of Severn, MD; grandchildren, Theodore D. LaBarre III, Terry Pruitt, Heather Witt and Jill Bussey; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
