Theresa Rose DeCarlo, 99, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was born on January 2, 1920, in Port Chester, New York, to the late Eugenia and Sylvester Pecora. Theresa was employed as a cafeteria worker for twenty years at Rye High School in Rye, New York. During her retirement she devoted much of her time volunteering at various organizations. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, painting – especially landscapes, badminton, swimming, sewing, and listening to music – especially operas. She was always up for a new adventure. She especially enjoyed uplifting the spirits of the senior citzens of Port Chester as well as patients at United Hospital for over 23 years.
Theresa was predeceased by her devoted husband of 46 years, William DeCarlo, her four siblings, and in addition to her parents, her step father, Dominick Crupi. She is survived by her three loving daughters, Rose Sinutko (Mike), Jean Kuhn (Barry), and Carmela De Carlo; her cherished grandchildren, Erik, Evan (Alyce), Justin (Dawnn), Jessica (Nick), Debbie (Rob) & Cathy (Rob); her beloved great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Jennifer (Shane), Noah and Elliot; and her dear great-great-grandchild, Liam.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM for a memorial gathering. A Catholic Vigil Service will be held during the gathering at 7 PM.
