Thomas Walter Barnes, 70, of Linthicum, passed away September 9, 2016, after a four-and-a-half year battle with multiple myeloma. Born on January 23, 1946 in Baltimore, he graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1964. He went on to proudly serve his country as a machine gunner in the Army National Guard, 101st Airborne Division, from 1966-1972. He was a plumber by trade and worked for Northrop Grumman until his retirement in 2008. A classic car aficionado, he was particularly fond of Corvettes and proudly owned a handful over the course of his lifetime. He also enjoyed history, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddog, Mocha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Allan and Elfrieda Emrich Barnes. He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Mary Barnes, one loving daughter, Kristy Barnes, near son-in-law, Jeffrey Powell and numerous extended family members.
