Thomas E. Whalen, Sr., 71, of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on November 28, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Mr. Whalen was born on October 21, 1940 to the late Daniel and Goldie Whalen and he was a retired Baltimore City firefighter. Tom also served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Hunting & Fishing Club and Baltimore City Firefighters Local 734. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, construction work, spending time with his family and traveling on cruises with his wife. He is survived by his wife Virginia; two sons, Tom, Jr., and his wife Mary Beth, Keith and his wife Tricia; five grandchildren, Tom, III, Marysa, Brittany Paff and Daniel & Carter Whalen; two sisters, Ruth Von Den Bosch and Norma Schonowski and her husband Bill; and one sister-in-law, Martha. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Whalen, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Red Cross, Central MD Chapter, 4800 Mt. Hope Drive; Baltimore, MD 21215.
After interment , the family will be having a reception at 8684 Veterans Hwy. Firemark Building, 4th Floor. All are welcome.
