Thomas David Strickland

May 12, 1957 — August 7, 2021

Thomas David Strickland, 64, of Odenton, passed away at his home on August 7, 2021. He was born in Fort Meade, MD to the late Robert Lewis and Luanna Ruth Strickland. He retired from the Montpelier Post Office, Laurel Branch, after 39 years of service. Tom was a longtime member of Severn Run Baptist Church and served as guitar player and singer in their praise band. He enjoyed going on camping trips with the youth group and going to the movies, loved music, had a fantastic sense of humor, was an avid history buff, particularly military history and was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and hunter. In his younger years, Tom played various sports including lacrosse, wrestling and softball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Hugh B. Siar.

Tom is survived by his loving siblings, Janet Lyn Siar, Richard Lee Strickland (Paula Dill) and Dorothy Sue Stackhouse (Andrew Dale); and beloved nieces and nephews, Jordan Leigh Jackson (Bryan), Samantha Rae Strickland, Eric Martin Stackhouse and Mark Andrew Stackhouse.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, August 12th, from 4-7 PM.  A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
