Viola Briggs

September 7, 1912 — April 7, 2007

On April 7, 2007, Viola Mae Briggs passed on. Viola was dearly loved her dear husband of 61 years, the late Jeffrey E. Briggs, Sr. She is survived by her dear daughter, Bettie Leister; her dear sons, Jeffrey E. Briggs, Jr. and Henry Briggs; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her dear brother, Jerome W. Hutchins; and her dear sister, Louise Cornwell. She was predeceased by her dear daughters, Ruby K. Swanhart and Patricia A. Arthur, and her dear sisters, Vayda Chaney and Ruth Welch. Viola was born in High Point, North Carolina in 1912. She lived in Maryland for over 30 years of her life. She worked as a Seamstress for many years. She was an employee of both 'Pack & Prat' and 'Tiffany Uniforms' at different points of her career. Viola was a member of the Pasadena Senior Center and the Stoney Creek Senior Center. She was a happy woman who enjoyed telling jokes. She loved playing Slots, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by many.
