Virginia Cornelius

Virginia Cornelius, of Linthicum Heights, died on July 11 at the home of her daughter, Vera Spilker, in Glen Burnie. She was born on January 17, 1935, in Chicot County, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. She worked at McCormick & Co. and retired in 1992. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband William. She is survived by her sisters, Jean and Margaret; children Vera Spilker,and her husband Phil, Cheryl Collier, and her husband William, and William Cornelius, Jr., and his wife Michelle; and her seven cherished grandchildren - Brendan, Devan, Brandy, Drew, Shane, Peyton, and Alise. Her main interests in life were her grandchildren, and she spent as much time with them as she could. She was an expert at crossword puzzles, and even the New York Times puzzle did not faze her. She also enjoyed gardening and loved to travel, especially to the ocean.
