Walter Moore

Walter Joseph Moore, 75, of Severn, passed away on December 4, 2018 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore to the late Marie and Roy Moore. He served in the United States Army from 1960-1963 and enlisted in both the Coast Guard and National Guard Reserves. He retired from the State of Maryland after many years of service. Walter was active with the senior center in Odenton. After retirement, he loved visiting his friends every day, challenging them to a friendly game of pool. He enjoyed boating, fishing and being out on the Chesapeake Bay. He loved airplanes; in his earlier years, he piloted small aircrafts. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roberta Jansen and Robert Moore.

Walter is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Josephine Moore; loving daughters, Sandra L. Cooper and her husband, Peter C. Cooper and Jennifer L. Farmer and her husband, James H. Farmer; cherished grandchildren, Anthony Cooper (Kelsey), Jacob Cooper, Logan Scott, Madison Scott, Morgan Scott, London Scott, Summer Farmer and James Farmer; one beloved great-grandchild on the way; beloved brother and best friend, Thomas Moore; dear sisters-in-law, Roberta and Anita Moore; and many dear nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie on Tuesday, Dec. 11th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10 AM, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
