Wilbur M. Marsh, 82 of Glen Burnie died on October 3, 2011. Known as "Woo" to family and friends, he was born to Issac and Bessie Marsh and raised on Riverside Avenue in South Baltimore. He attended Southern High School where he excelled in football and lacrosse and was named to the All-Star Prep School Lacrosse Squad in 1948. That same year, the News American named him to the McCormick Unsung Hero of the Week. He graduated from Southern in 1949 and on April 22, 1950 married his high school sweetheart June Arnold. During the early years of his marriage, he was employed by the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company. He served his country during the Korean War and after being honorably discharged entered the University of Baltimore where he graduated in 1961 with a Business Degree. For the past 25 years he was the owner of Wilbur Marsh, General Contractor, Inc. He was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Mr. Marsh enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. Every January for nearly 30 years he and his wife would travel to various places in the Caribbean and Mexico. Many wonderful vacations were spent with his family at Walt Disney World and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Mr. Marsh was a devoted father to his children: Susan Porter and her husband Larry, Michael Marsh and his wife Susan, Jeffrey Marsh and his wife Joy and Christopher Marsh. Loving grandfather to Lauren and Alexander Porter, Kevin Crout-Marsh, Max and Molly Marsh. Caring brother to Joan Hause and Richard Meyd. Dear son-in-law to Laura Arnold Foreacre.
