William Alvis

November 21, 1920 — April 1, 2015

William "Bo" Clyde Alvis, 94, of Brooklyn Park passed away on April 1, 2015. William was born in 1920 in Oilville, Virginia. He served in the US Army during World War II as an Ambulance Driver in the European Theater. Bo worked at Bethlehem Steel as a white hat in the Paint Department. He was an avid deer and duck hunter, enjoyed crabbing, fishing, boating, and home remodeling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Alvis; and his daughter, Gloria Alvis Yonkoski. He is survived by his granddaughter, Danielle Selby and her husband Glen; great-granddaughter, Delaney Marguerite Selby; two sisters, Lottie Komara of Brooklyn Park, MD and Bernice Walker of New Jersey; and two nieces, Linda Crook and Teresa Walker.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Maryland Chapter, 11350 McCormick Road, Executive Plaza III, Ste. 100, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
