William B. Barsell, 89, a resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on July 5, 2013. He was born in Boston, MA on July 8, 1923 to the late William and Margaret Barsell. Bill graduated in 1940 from Boston Trade School as an electrician. He served in the United States Army in Normandy during World War II and the National Guard for 34 years. Bill was employed as a Master Electrician for 50 years and also ran the Chelsea Navy Hospital in MA, retiring in 1978. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Mary Elizabeth. He is survived by four sons, Robert Barsell of Glen Burnie, John Barsell of Middleboro, MA and William and Stephen Barsell of Cranston, RI; and grandchildren, Joshua Barsell of CA, Derick and Aaron Barsell of FL and Destiny Warham of MA.
The family will also receive visitors at Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin Street; Holbrook, MA 02343, on Thursday, July 11th, from 3-5 & 7-9PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, 11AM, at Wynthrop Congregational Church, 16 North Franklin Street; Holbrook, MA 02343. Interment Union St. Cemetery.
