On Sunday August 23, 2015, William "Bill" Blottenberger, of Severn, went home to be with the Lord. Bill was born on December 19, 1925 to John and Anna Blottenberger, in Baltimore, MD. He honorably served our country, first in the U.S.M.C. during W.W.II, and then in the U.S. Army, during Korea. He received medals and decorations in both and Purple Hearts in both. After the Military, Mr. Blottenberger worked at Westinghouse as a Production Manager for 35 years. Bill was a member of the Glen Burnie Elks Lodge #2266, and was the Exalted Ruler in 1976. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 40. Mr. Blottenberger was an avid golfer, and loved being around his grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Anna Blottenberger. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Eyler and her husband Bob, and Cathy Wilson and her husband Bob, his grandchildren; Amanda Smith, Steven Eyler, Jennifer Hendley, and Kimberly Wilson, his great granddaughter, Jessica Smith, and his sister, Eleanor Veltre.
In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, 5413 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151.
