William Burner

William S. Burner, 81, of Millersville, MD. Loving husband to Dolores Burner for 49 years. Caring father to Nancy Hood of Manassas, VA; Sandra Temple of West Palm Beach, FL; Susan Urbanek of Ft. Worth, TX; Stephanie Traube of Woodbridge, VA; and Lori Hill of Glen Burnie, MD. Devoted Uncle to George Feshenko of Youngstown, OH.
Mr. Burner was born on June 16, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Anna Burner. At the age of 17, he entered the US Navy where he earned decorations such as the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal five times. After serving in the Navy for 21 years as a Master Baker, he worked at the Naval Surface Weapons Center for another 19 years.
Along with being the former Post Commander of the VFW Post 160, William enjoyed golfing, even while blind, yard work, reading, bowling, yearly reunions for the U.S.S. Macon, but most of all loved being an 'ancient grandpa'.
