William M. Claytor went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11th 2021 at home after an extended illness.
William was self-employed as Bill’s Auto Service and Bill’s Small engine repair. He worked as an automobile and truck mechanic, along with body and fender repair, he drove tractor trailer trucks, and school buses, he was also a driver for Motor Pool, and was an NAF employee at Post Billeting, Fort Meade and worked on circuit boards for Westinghouse.
He was happiest when working on lawn mowers, small engine repairs and home repairs. He could always find a reason to purchase new tools, when doing the home repairs. Bill loved tools.
William was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Lee and Minnie Claytor, five sisters, Marion Ridgely, Eldora “Boots” Grasboski, Margaret Matlock, Ethel “Ginger” Kiser, and Iona Dorn and one brother, Willard Claytor.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice C. Claytor; one son, Joseph W. Claytor of Severn, and two grandchildren, Erica L. Claytor of Severn, and Abby Claytor of Ferndale and one brother, Felton “Pie” Claytor of Ferndale.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave., SW (off Crain Hwy), on Thursday, July 15th, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
The family would request in lieu of flowers, to make a memorial contribution to Jessup Baptist Church, PO Box 308 Jessup, Maryland 20794.
