William “Bill” Howard, Jr., 86, of Linthicum, passed away at St. Agnes Medical Center on December 8, 2023. Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Mildred and William Howard. He was a 1955 graduate of Southern High School and played soccer for the Locust Point soccer club into his late teens. Bill then served in the U.S. Army for six years of which one and a half years were active duty and four and a half years in the reserves. He worked for 37 years at Domino Sugar. Bill was an avid sports fan of the Ravens and Orioles, an active member of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church for 46 years, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Howard (nee Sautter); loving daughter Kim and son-in-law Patrick Jackson, and son Bill Howard and daughter-in-law Tracy; cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin and wife Alyssa Jackson, Meghan Howard, and Tyler DeBoy; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear sisters, Joan Atkinson and Peggy Anthony.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, December 14th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 15th, at 11:30 AM, at Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane, Linthicum, Maryland 21090. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
