William Largent

William M. Largent "Sarge", 88, of Glen Burnie passed away on March 13, 2012 at the Gilchrist Hospice Center. Sarge served in the US Navy until retirement. Thereafter, he worked as a mechanic for Sears, from which he also retired, then went on to work as a Deputy Sheriff at the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office. Sarge was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose, F.O.P, Elks, National Sheriff's Association, D.A.V., N.R.A., Ferndale Community Club, Lakeshore Democratic Club, Fleet Reserves, Anne Arundel Alarmers Association, AARP and NASCS. He also belonged to the Softball Players Association, Senior Softball USA Inc., and Florida Half Century Amateur softball Association. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Ruth E. Largent. He is survived by four children, William Largent, Daniel Daris, Donna Chadwell and Diana Trotta; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans #13, 8200 Old Quarterfield Road, Severn, MD 21144.
