William Pettit

William H. Pettit "Bill", 72, of Ferndale, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. He is the devoted husband of 53 years to Vivian L. Pettit; loving father to daughter, Karen Opperhauser and her husband Keith, and son, Scott Pettit and Dawn Cain; and grandfather to four, Jeffrey and Kaitlyn Opperhauser and Ashley and Sarah Pettit. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Pettit and wife Bernie of Glen Burnie, sister, Marlene McKone and husband Donald of South Carolina. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Pettit.

Bill was an avid NASCAR, Orioles, and Ravens fan, loved classic cars, and enjoyed reading the newspaper. He was employed by Budweiser for many years and became a self-employed contractor for several beer and wine distributors prior to retiring four years ago.
