William Taylor Jr

William "Scoop" Cecil Taylor, Jr., 72, of Glen Burnie passed away on May 12, 2018. Scoop was born in Baltimore to the late William C. Taylor, Sr. and Ann(Dmytrow) Taylor. He was a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He worked W.R. Grace and then became a City of Baltimore employee with the Department of Public Works. He married Jean Spieker on May 22, 1976. Together they enjoyed the simple pleasures of married life as a couple for 22 years when they were blessed with their daughter Brianna. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and being a member of several bowling leagues. He was a simple man who enjoyed life on his own terms he was confident in who he was. He was also a man of routine he played his daily keno, was a regular at Bowl on America and spent the evening with his mother every day.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Louie; and his mother-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Jean Taylor; daughter Brianna Taylor; mother, Ann Taylor; brothers, Lindy, and Claude(Cheryl) Taylor; father-in-law, James Spieker, and a host of other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A 1 2nd Avenue SW (at Crain) Hwy.) in Glen Burnie on Friday, May 18 from 12-1PM with a memorial service to follow at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345.
