On Thursday, August 18th, William R. Emmerich, Jr., 49, passed away suddenly. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 16, 1973, to Dorsey and William R. Emmerich, Sr. Bill graduated from Lansdowne High School in 1991, and went to work at Powerhouse Gym in Linthicum, becoming the manager. He started bodybuilding after high school, becoming proficient enough to enter competitions. In 1996, he became the Maryland State Body Building champion. After Powerhouse Gym closed, he was hired as Manager at World Gym in Severna Park and was certified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Counselor in 1997.
In 2000, Bill changed careers. He graduated from the Maryland Bartenders Academy and was bar manager at several establishments. In 2007, Bill was hired by Utiliquest as a Damage Prevention Specialist. He loved his job and worked hard, winning Locator Achievement awards in 2014 and 2018.
Bill is survived by his beloved father, William R. Emmerich, Sr.; his loving step-mother, Ruth Ann Emmerich; and his dear step-brother, Joshua Raup.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S. W. (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday, August 27th, from 2-3 PM for a memorial gathering. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following in the funeral home chapel.
