Zachariah Anister was born on July 8, 1931 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Mary Harrison. He went home to be with the lord peacefully on July 15, 2016 at home in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Bobbie and Mamie Lee Richardson played a vital role in his early childhood years until he moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young man with his best friend Charles Powell.
He received his education from Rocky Mount educational system.
He was employed as a furniture finisher at Levinson & Klein furniture store in Baltimore, Maryland until he retired after 50 years of service.
He met and married the love of his life Viola Patterson on July 23, 1955. Out of this union four children were born. Together they lived a loving life and led by example.
"Buddy" as he was affectionately known was a very kind and generous man who was loved by all. He lived his life to serve others before himself. He never met a stranger that he did not welcome with open arms. Biologically he had four children but was a father to many. He loved to talk and give advice "even sometimes unsolicited" He enjoyed cooking, traveling, entertaining, sports, casinos, and was very gifted with his hands but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Sharing time and telling stories of his early childhood with his children was a great part of his past time. He was loved by many.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 61 years on July 23, 2016, Viola Anister. Four children Thomasina (Tina) Anister, Vileen Hicklin, Zachary Anister and Valarie Williams (Kevin Williams). Six grandchildren Zachary Anister Jr. (Tynesha), Donnie Little (Dawn Zinkhan), Rashad Anister, Adrian Perkins, Mya and Myles Williams. He had seven great grandchildren. He will join his four sisters and one brother in heaven Mozella, Isabella, Annie Lee, Juanita and Garland. Two sisters Adgelene Davis and Lucille Alston and one brother Bobbie Richardson. Two sister in laws Deanna Richardson and Kathleen Patterson. One god daughter Lisa Wilmoth and a host of other relatives.
Buddy had a special relationship with many family and friends.
His memory will live on in everyone's life he touched.
