Alton Willis

On December 13, 2012, Mr. Alton W. Willis of Glen Burnie, passed away at his residence. Mr. Willis was born on August 8, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1947. Alton worked at Fort Meade for the US Civil Service in communications. He also served in the National Guard. Mr. Willis received an AA degree from Anne Arundel Community College in 1987 and then went to Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC to become an ordained minister. He served as a deacon in the Glen Burnie United Methodist Church. Alton also volunteered for the Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Willis; along with his 4 children, Kenneth Willis, Wanda Walters, Gary Willis, and Bruce Willis. He is also survived by two sisters, Mitzi Bowers and Lorelle Lindeman; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
