Barbara Blackwell

On February 2, 2016, Barbara T. Blackwell (nee Totman), 89, of Severna Park, MD, formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD, passed away at her home. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on August 2, 1926, to the late Louise and Kenneth Totman. Barbara graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1943 and was a member of the Upper Marlboro Garden Club where she was also Blue Bird Chairwoman. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
Barbara was a lovely woman who lived in grace and dignity. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, The Honorable Albert T. Blackwell; her beloved children, Karen Whisman, Lucinda Ballard, A. Richard Blackwell, Debra Conner, and Steven Blackwell; her twelve cherished grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 OR the American Cancer Society Memorial Program, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.
