Christina Greene

Christina Helen Greene, 98 of Glen Burnie passed away on August 30, 2018. Mrs. Greene was born on August 26, 1920 in St. Charles, Virginia. She loved children and pursued a career in Education, obtaining her Bachelor's degree from Carson Newman University and a Master's degree from Towson University. She taught at Jacobsville Elementary and Glendale Elementary for 35 years and also taught elementary school in Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky for 15 years. She was a dedicated and caring teacher, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was motivated by her Christian faith. Christina was preceded in life by her husband of 75 years, Kester Greene, Sr.; a son, Kester Greene, Jr.; sister, Celestia Thompson; brothers, Neil, Bruce and Bascom Kirk. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Tores; son-in-law, John Tores, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Doris Greene; grandchildren, Angela, Andrea, John, Christopher, Darlene and Debbie; a sister, Effigene Smith; a brother, Robert Kirk and 8 great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, Sept. 2nd from 12-1 pm, followed by a funeral service in the funeral chapel at 1 PM. A reception will follow the funeral service at the Singleton Celebration Center. The interment will be held at Lee Memorial Gardens, Pennington Gap, VA on Wednesday.
