David Cavanaugh Sr

On June 25, 2018, David Clayton Cavanaugh Sr., of Glen Burnie, MD succumbed peacefully in his Glen Burnie home surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 14, 1932, to the late Rose Savage, in Baltimore city. He spent most of his childhood in an orphanage where he helped care for all the children, including his siblings. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. David is a retired employee of General Motors, and was Scout Master of 60 years to Boy Scout troop #636 and Cub Scout troop #636. He was also a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church. David was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Audrey Ann Cavanaugh; beloved children, Audrey E. Pietruszka and Patrick David Cavanaugh; and his siblings, Vincent Cavanaugh, MaryLou Cavanaugh, Eileen Cavanaugh and Rose Marie Cavanaugh.
He is survived by his loving children, David (Debbie) Cavanaugh Jr., Lawrence (Barbara) Cavanaugh and Tina (Stephen) Jump; cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Angela, Ashley, Frank, Ann, Patrick, Michael, Christopher, Rosemary and Caitlin; and beloved great-grandchildren, Bradley, Becca, Connor, Marlaina, Tyler, Weslyn, and Cayla Mae.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Weds., June 27th and Thurs., June 28th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, 9 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery.
