On May 6, 2017, Dorothy Marshall Greenwood Bennett, 96, of Glen Burnie, passed away at North Arundel Health and Rehabilitation. Dorothy was born on June 6, 1920, in West Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to the late Janie and Ralph Greenwood. She was a LPN and worked in various nursing homes around the Baltimore area. Dorothy's life was her dedication to the church as a Pastor's wife, however, she enjoyed reading her devotionals and Bible, singing hymns, helping people, but most of all, being with her family.
Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband of 69 years, Ervin L. Bennett and her two dear sisters, Margaret Pata and Nancy Donalson. She is survived by her loving children, Jane A. Blakely and her husband Cary, and Paul E. Bennett and his wife Helen; her cherished grandchildren, Terry L. Youngbar and her husband Charles, Tammy L. Covington, Jason Bennett and his wife Brittany, and Jeffrey Bennett; her beloved great-grandchildren, Zachary Covington, Cari Farrow and her husband Christopher, Emilee Bennett, Rachael Bennett, and Zachary Bennett and her great-great-grandchildren, Skyler Farrow, Zachary Covington, Luci Covington, Cole Farrow, and Cody Farrow.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie on Tuesday, May 9th, from 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10th, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Loudon Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy Bennett's name may be made to the Gideon's International at www.gideons.org .
