James Evans Sr

On October 15, 2006, James E. "Jim" Evans Sr. of Glen Burnie passed away at the age of 73. Beloved husband for 55 years to Mary Zetter Evans (nee Brown); Loving father of James Jr., Jeffrey L. and Jerone P. Evans; Caring father-in-law to Diane, Bonetta and Teresa; Cherished grandfather of six and great-grandfather of four. He was predeceased by one brother, Richard H. Evans. Jim is also survived by 2 nephews, 2 nieces and 2 sister-in-laws. Born in North Carolina, Jim has resided in Glen Burnie since 1969. He served his country in the United States Airforce for 21 years before retiring. He then worked at the First National Bank (now M&T)on Charles Street as an Assistant Vice-President for another 20 years before again retiring. Jim had a life-long passion for Bracket Racing. He won numerous awards, including the coveted "Wally" and once he even won a racing car. Jim was a member of the National Racing Association. When he wasn't racing, Jim enjoyed fishing, tennis, basketball and playing cards with his friends in the poker club. Jim was known to his family as "B Pa". He will be sorely missed.
