James Gomez, Sr.

On Sunday, January 9, 2022, James Matias Gomez, Sr. of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully at Magothy Gardens. Beloved husband of Ruth A. Gomez, nee Kenley. Loving father of Kimberlee Jones ( Harry), Denise Simon (Bernie), Anita Norin (Mitchell), James M. Gomez, Jr. ( Toni), Michael Gomez, (Julie), Matthew J. Gomez (Allison) and Samantha A. Gomez. Brother of Manuel Gomez and Angela Halcomb. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

James, a Catholic originally born in Argentina, proudly served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard from 1950 to 1960. He worked in a career he loved as a Realtor for 25 years, selling homes in Severna Park and Pasadena, Maryland. He loved playing tennis and was a passionate fan of Baltimore sports teams: the Ravens, Colts and Orioles.

All Services and Inurnment will be held at a later time privately. Arrangements were handled by the Singleton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PA, 1 Second Avenue, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
