Joseph Dooley

On August 26, 2018, Joseph Edmund Dooley, 75, of Hanover, passed away at his home. Joseph was born on February 18, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Anna M. Dooley and the late Joseph E. Dooley, Sr. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 24 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Joseph volunteered at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company for many years and participated in many charitable functions with the American Heart Association. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, but he also enjoyed traveling (especially to Ocean City), watching the Orioles and Capitals, and he was an overall "fire buff" (collecting fire memorabilia and attending many parades).
Joseph was predeceased by his devoted wife of 38 years, Rita Ann Dooley. He is survived by his loving children, Michael Dooley and his wife Jenifer, and Cathy Dove and her fiancé Joe Colianni; his cherished grandchildren, Allison Dooley, Nicholas Dooley, and Ryan Dove; his beloved mother, Anna M. Dooley; and his dear sisters, Patricia Taylor, Kathleen Brodo, and Carolyn Pippitt.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, August 30th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 31st, at Christ the King - Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 B and A Blvd. Glen Burnie, MD 21061, at 12 noon. Interment at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial contributions in Joseph's name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org.
