Joseph Lorenz, Jr.

Joseph T. Lorenz Jr., known to many as “Captain Joe“ passed away on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was born on February 5th, 1951 in Ferndale Md. The son of the Late Joseph T. Lorenz Sr. and Laverne Lorenz.

Joe was a Crane Operator for CSX Transportation for 43 Years and an avid fisherman with several tournament wins under his belt.

He especially enjoyed spending his spare time with his loving wife and his beloved grandchildren that we all affectionately call the Fabulous 5, Brandon, Michael Jr, Joseph (Joey), Gia, Macie.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Lorenz; four children, Michael Lorenz Sr., Joseph Lorenz III, Brian Lorenz & Beth Richardson; two beloved step-children, Ricky Anarino & Jenny Anarino; twelve grandchildren, Brandon (16), Michael Jr (11), Joey (10), Gia (10), Macie (10) Joey (19), Anthony (16), Brielle (3), Sienna (12), Kevin (19), David (17), and Karah (12). Two siblings Gloria Dunn of Texas and Victor “Sonny” Lorenz of Florida.

Joe was preceded in death by his three sisters, Dorothy Dubiel, Mary Fisher, and Joann Lorenz

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, November 24th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 40 people inside the funeral home at one time and requiring masks for all visitors. We kindly ask that you please keep your visit brief, as there may be people waiting to get into the funeral home.
